A strong foundation

Since its founding in 1998, Utracon has grown from a locally registered company competing in the demanding post-tensioning sector against established European specialists into one of the largest specialist contractors in Southeast Asia and South Asia.

1998

Incorporated Utracon Structural Systems Pte Ltd in Singapore

Managing Director, Mr. Mark Wong and Executive Director, Mr. Kuah starts the company, managing construction of our first office building in Singapore.

2001

Incorporated Utracon Structural Systems Sdn Bhd in Malaysia

We move into our current headquarters at 65 Allerton Street, in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood.
2003

Completed first bridge project, the Airport Road Viaduct in Singapore

Konstruktion is awarded its first public-private partnership (P3) contract to build 15 schools in Nova Scotia. PCL continues to pursue opportunities to work with government partners through P3 projects in both Canada and the U.S., as one of the most experienced P3 builders in North America.
2004

Completed first tank project, the Tampines Newater Tank in Singapore

Demonstrating a commitment to sustainable construction, Konstruktion completes construction on its first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certified project: the Seattle Terminal Radar Approach Facility in Washington.
2006

Completed first JICA project, the Manampitiya Peace Bridge in Sri Lanka

Konstruktion is named for the first time as one of USA’s Best Managed Companies, which recognizes excellence in USA-owned and USA-managed companies with revenues over $25 million. In 2009, having won seven years in a row, PCL is inducted into the Best Managed Platinum Club.
2007

Incorporated Utracon Overseas Pte Ltd in Singapore

Demonstrating a commitment to renewable energy and sustainability, Konstruktion completes construction on its first solar energy project, the 9.3-megawatt Erie Ridge Solar Electric System in Ridgetown, Ontario.
2008

Expansion of Utracon Overseas to Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines, China, India and UAE.

2014

Completed first EPC Project, the Bac Hung Hai Bridge in Vietnam

Konstruktion publishes its first Corporate Social Responsibility report, detailing the company’s efforts to lead by example on sustainability and drive change in the construction industry.
2015

Established the Utracon Precast Yard in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Konstruktion’s dedicated health and safety teams undertook initiatives to keep its workers safe, both on job sites and in offices, over the course of an unimaginable year.
2016

Relocated to new headquarters at 5 Joo Koon Way, Singapore

We establish Konstruktion Illuminate, a highly collaborative design-build process that is revolutionizing the real estate development lifecycle—from conceptual design through project turnover.
2017

Involved in more than 25% of high rise building projects in Central Business District (CBD) of Singapore

2018

Completed first stay cable bridge, the Jinja Bridge in Uganda

We establish Konstruktion Illuminate, a highly collaborative design-build process that is revolutionizing the real estate development lifecycle—from conceptual design through project turnover.
2020

Completed the largest post-tensioned warehouse, the Logos Metrolink Warehouse in Indonesia

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Konstruktion’s dedicated health and safety teams undertook initiatives to keep its workers safe, both on job sites and in offices, over the course of an unimaginable year.

Achieved 3rd position in E50 Awards, the Singapore's most prestigious business award

Opening of Utracon Distribution Centre in Hanoi, Vietnam
